New games for old machines.
RetroGamesX is moving beyond preserving classic hardware and software. We are also building and adapting new games for the machines that helped define the 1980s and 1990s.
These are not modern games wearing a retro skin. The goal is to make releases that actually run on original hardware, with the limitations, quirks, storage formats, video systems, and controllers that come with it.
PIRATES
PIRATES is a tongue-in-cheek full-motion-video adventure starring Cap’n Cat, a modern-day sailor with a very questionable approach to piracy, danger, and survival.
The original project began as an interactive movie created in the United Kingdom. RetroGamesX is turning that idea into a true PlayStation game with its own menu flow, branching choices, progression, and console-specific build.

What comes next
PIRATES is the first major project in this new direction, but it is not intended to be the last. RetroGamesX is also exploring ports, unusual independent releases, and collaborations with creators who have something worth putting on real hardware.
