Have a strange game that deserves to exist on real hardware?
RetroGamesX works with independent creators and small publishers on the awkward space between having a game and actually getting it released.
That can mean figuring out what is left to finish, adapting a project to legacy hardware, creating a reproducible build, preparing physical media, testing on real systems, organizing release assets, or simply helping turn an uncertain project into a practical plan.
Ways we may be able to help
Release assessment
You have a game or prototype, but the route from where it is today to a finished release is unclear. We can review the project and identify the technical, production, and platform work that remains.
Legacy-console ports
Some projects make sense on hardware they were never originally designed for. That work may involve video and audio conversion, controller flow, storage constraints, platform-specific code, menus, testing, and build tooling.
Build and release preparation
Turning a working development build into something another person can manufacture, test, document, and support requires discipline. We can help organize masters, checksums, release notes, packaging requirements, test procedures, and production handoff.
Physical-media workflow
For projects headed toward discs or other physical formats, we can help think through the practical pieces between the final build and the finished item in a player’s hands.
What fits
The best fit is usually an independent project with something unusual about it: old hardware, FMV, obscure formats, unconventional distribution, physical media, or a release problem that does not have an obvious off-the-shelf answer.
This is intentionally a small operation. We are more interested in a few interesting projects than in becoming a high-volume outsourcing studio.
